Direct deposits, bill payments and transfers between your own banks.
ACH (the Automated Clearing House network) moves money in batches that settle at set times on banking days. Most payments settle within one banking day, and a regular ACH deposit must be available by 9:00 AM on the settlement date. Nothing settles on weekends or Federal Reserve holidays.

Every ACH guide, newest first, is in the ACH guides archive. To end a recurring debit before it is taken, start with stop automatic payments. If a biller is pulling money from your account and you want to know what that entry is, read what is an ach debit. If an app asks you to confirm two small amounts it sent to your bank, see what are micro deposits. A business that checks your account before the first payment without moving any money is sending an ach prenote.
If your bank processed an entry but sent corrected account information, read ACH notification of change before sending another payment.
When money crosses the border and an ACH entry carries the U.S. leg, it is an international ACH transaction, which cannot use Same Day ACH.
