Why it matters

Same Day ACH lets an ACH payment settle on the day it is sent instead of the next business day, if the sender’s bank submits it in time and uses the service. Faster growth there means more payments, from bill pay to account-to-account transfers, can arrive the same day. Nacha’s CEO said in the release that the Same Day ACH dollar limit will rise to $10 million in 2027.

Whether your own transfer goes as Same Day ACH is your bank’s or the payer’s choice; the network figures do not tell you how a given bank sends.
