Why it matters

MoonPay calls itself the first and only platform to offer Cash App Pay for digital asset purchases. The flow is a route out of the app: dollars leave Cash App to pay MoonPay, and the purchased assets go to the wallet you use with MoonPay or its partner.

That split matters when something goes wrong. The crypto purchase and its delivery are MoonPay’s service, not Cash App’s, so questions about an order go to MoonPay. Block’s partnerships lead said bitcoin remains at the core of Cash App’s digital asset strategy.

What to do

  • Check the full price, fees and the receiving wallet address on the MoonPay screen before you confirm.
  • Make sure the asset and network match what your wallet supports. Crypto sent to the wrong network or address often cannot be recovered.
  • Keep the MoonPay order ID; MoonPay is who you contact about a missing purchase.
