USAA’s instruction sheets point to usaa.com, 210-531-8722 or 800-531-8722, and #8722 from a mobile phone. USAA sends international wires through its intermediary bank, The Bank of New York, and does not send funds to countries and territories sanctioned by federal law.
USAA may rely on the account number alone: its agreement says it can process a wire by account number even if the name on the order differs. If the instructions are wrong, the money may be lost, delayed or returned, and a returned wire comes back minus fees.
Limits on USAA wires
USAA’s agreement says it may limit the amount and number of wires, that you cannot wire more than your available balance, and that it will notify you in advance, where the law requires, before lowering your limit below $10,000 per wire or below two wires per rolling 30 days. New accounts and minor account owners may face extra limits.

Incoming wires are available on the day USAA receives them. A wire sent in a foreign currency is converted to US dollars by an intermediary or correspondent bank before it reaches USAA, and that rate may include a spread or commission. Loan and home equity accounts use different wire instructions; take them from USAA’s own sheet for that account.

Canceling or fixing a USAA wire
Warning
USAA’s agreement says it is not obliged to cancel or amend a wire once it receives the order, and often cannot after processing. It may try, if the request passes its security procedures, and may charge for it. International wires sent for personal, family or household purposes come with federal remittance disclosures that include cancellation and error-resolution rights; read the disclosure USAA gives you at the time of the transfer. Report a wrong or unauthorized wire on your statement within 60 days.
