Canceling a Navy Federal wire
Warning
Navy Federal calls wire transfers “immediate, final and irrevocable.” Call 1-888-842-6328 at once: a wire still at Navy Federal can be canceled with no fee. Once processed, Navy Federal can only ask the payee’s bank to return the money, other banks may charge if it succeeds, and there is no set time for an answer. An international wire can be canceled within 30 minutes of submission, with a full refund unless the receiving bank already has the funds.
Navy Federal asks you to contact it five business days after a cancellation request for an update. If you were talked into sending a wire, report it to Navy Federal right away; see wire transfer not received for what a bank can and cannot do.
