Using Zelle at America First

Open Transfers and Send Money with Zelle in the credit union’s app or online banking. Enrollment uses your email address or US mobile number and a verification code. Both the sender and recipient need US checking or savings accounts.

America First says payments to enrolled recipients are typically available within minutes. That description is not a promise for every payment, and the recipient should confirm receipt in their own account.

Its FAQ directs members to call member service for the amount and frequency they can send. Use the limit for your account rather than a figure quoted for another credit union. America First says it does not limit how much you receive through Zelle, although the sender’s institution can limit the payment.

Pending payments and mistakes

A payment can be canceled only if the recipient has not enrolled. Open the payment in activity and look for Cancel This Payment. If that option is unavailable, contact America First for help with the pending payment.

A payment sent directly to an already enrolled recipient cannot be canceled through that process. If the destination was wrong, the credit union asks you to call 1-800-999-3961 immediately.

Warning

America First and Zelle do not provide purchase protection for Zelle payments. Use the service for people or small businesses you trust and verify the destination before sending.

Read Zelle payment pending and cancel a Zelle payment for the distinction between a pending instruction and money already delivered.

The schedule covers personal savings, checking, accumulator and certificate accounts; it directs business-account holders to a separate schedule. Do not apply these personal figures to every business arrangement.

Intermediary banks, foreign currency exchanges and receiving institutions may add charges. The outgoing international fee is therefore the credit union’s listed service fee, not a guaranteed total cost or recipient amount.
